MONSTER CAFE CLOSED! um..until furthur notice...

So Wifey and I are having an ordinary Saturday night just running our little cafe....When all of a sudden 14 police and military trucks pull up and 25 men armed to the teeth come in to ask us where our permit is for the alcohol license for the state is.  We have paid the Municipal and State EVERY year for the past 6 years mind you.  We got the Municipal one but the state we have not paid yet as the economy sucks and we fell behind.  What they do in the United States is to send a written warning that one needs to pay a bill.  They do not send in the frickin army!

I swear this is what they looked like.  Most hiding their faces etc.  with the same guns.

So let's not bother the precious CARTEL members doing the drug running in Mexico....Let's not bother the REAL criminals etc.

No let us bother a little restaurant that has brought nothing but good things to Saltillo in the form of jobs and a great experience for thousands of people.

So all of these little dicked police and military people had machine guns inside the cafe.  25 of them mind you....To close us!  They scared the customers that were there not to mention my wife and I.

It was a  intimidating force of power.

So Monday will come and I will pay the license.  But after that?  Who knows?  What other crap with this government pull?

Anyone want to buy the cafe and run it themselves please let us know!

I am tired of this crap.

  3. I've always wanted to visit your cafe since discovering this blog, but if it's an opportunity to sell the business and go home it might be a blessing in disguise. That is a terrible display of force to shut down a restaurant even with legitimate grounds. Keep us up to date on proceedings, the best of luck with it. Seems a silly tactic for the local constabulary and not a wise move for the local economy.

  4. If I were you Id skip America entirely and go to Canada.lately its not really much less a police state here in America then where your at , yeah they dont send armed gunmen into your business but they use the IRS as an effective weapon.Sorry to here about that though, I like knowing a place like your existed somewhere out there even if I cant see it in person.

    2. Oh yeah that would be a problem then with a good deal of Canada. Vancouver weather wise is basically just like Seattle but then you have a massive amount of rain to deal with but you do have heavy forest and Bigfoot to look at.

  6. As a customar and as a Mexican I feel so sorry for your situation, everybody hates this shitty government so freaking corrupted, hard time for Mexico as you know. You made an icon in the historic center of Saltillo, a lovely nice place to enjoy good music, food and ambience. God bless you and thank you for such an awesome bar.
